- Is it okay to use it daily in the AM and PM?
Yes, it is perfectly fine for daily use in the AM and PM.
- What function does Salicylic Acid have on the skin?
The main property of salicylic acid is to remove the superficial layer of the epidermis, which makes it effective in treating acne and its related lesions such as superficial scars and wrinkles. It has comedolytic (removes blackheads) and keratolytic (removes dead cells) properties and regulates sebum production in oily and acne-prone skin.
- Can I use Oil Control Cleansing Foam on other parts of my body besides the face?
You can use this cleanser on parts of your body with breakouts such as arms, chest, and back.
- Can I use exfoliating acids after using the salicylic acid cleanser?
Although Oil Control Cleansing Foam contains salicylic acid, which is a BHA (beta-hydroxy acid), it is safe to apply other types of AHA and BHA exfoliating acids due to the short contact time of the cleanser with the skin.
- Can I use retinoids after using Oil Control Cleansing Foam in my nighttime skincare routine?
Yes, the salicylic acid cleanser is a gentle yet effective cleanser that remains on the skin for a short period of time and is then thoroughly washed off with water. Therefore, there should be little risk of irritation if you are going to use retinol or its derivatives in your nighttime skincare routine.
- How long does it take to see results?
Our products may take up to six weeks to show full results, due to the time it takes for skin cells to renew and for the results of any product to surface. Consistency is key, so use it regularly even if you don't see immediate effects. It can be very tempting to increase the amount or use of some products in an attempt to see faster results; however, do not exceed the recommended usage as this could lead to irritation and sensitivity.
- Is it safe for those who are pregnant or lactating?
We do not recommend this product if you are pregnant or lactating. Salicylic Acid has no safety evidence in pregnant or lactating women.
